The Emma Press is releasing an expanded edition of The Emma Press Anthology of Mildly Erotic Verse (2013) in time for Valentine’s Day.

Mildly Erotic Verse, edited by Rachel Piercey and Emma Wright, features more than twice as many poems as the first edition.

The new edition includes contributions from Jamie Baxter, Vasiliki Albedo Bennu, Nisha Bhakoo, Sophia Blackwell, Jo Brandon, Annie Brechin, Alan Buckley, Helen Clare, George David Clark, Isobel Dixon, Victoria Gatehouse, Mary Gilonne, Stephanie Green, Robert Hamberger, Ramona Herdman, Hilaire, Lynn Hoffman, James Horrocks, Victoria Kennefick, Angela Kirby, Ali Lewis, Holly Magill, Amy McCauley, Laura McKee, Fiona Moore, Steve Nash, Camille Ralphs, Natalie Shaw, Di Slaney, Ruth Stacey, Kelley Swain, Ali Thurm and Nicola Warwick.

Mildly Erotic VersePublisher Emma Wright said: ‘The Emma Press Anthology of Mildly Erotic Verse was the first anthology we published and we’re still very proud of it. We’ve always wanted to add more voices to the book, so we decided to return to our mildly erotic roots now that the Emma Press is a bit more established. We hope that the second edition continues to challenge mainstream depictions of eroticism and showcase the diversity of human erotic experiences.’

The first anthology was accompanied by an Arts Council-supported tour of poetry events. Mildly Erotic Verse, which is publishing on 29th January 2016, will be launched in London on Wednesday 10th February with a party in Farringdon, featuring readings from the poets.

The Emma Press is also running an evening of love poems in Waterstones Birmingham on Thursday 11th February, with readings from Liz Berry (author of Black Country, Chatto & Windus, 2014; winner of Forward Prize for Best First Collection) and Richard O’Brien (author of The Emmores, Emma Press, 2014).
